Lady Washington Bow (2008)

Detail of the bow and figurehead of the Lady Washington, an authentic full-scale reproduction of an 18th century merchant ship. Built in 1989, the modern Lady Washington is the “official Tall Ship Ambassador for the State of Washington.” She sails along the West Coast to educate children (and adults) about traditional tall ships, and occasionally appears in movies. I took this picture in Eureka, on the north coast of California.
