Peyto Lake in Spring (1992)

Although I took this picture in late May, snow is still on the ground and a layer of ice still covers Peyto Lake in Banff National Park, Alberta. But Peyto Creek has thawed enough to carry water from a melting glacier, along with the “rock flour” that gives the lake its blue color.
