Beaver Lake at Dusk (1991)

Beaver Lake is on the Norris Basin to Mammoth Hot Springs section of the Grand Loop Road in Yellowstone National Park. The late-afternoon colors suggest autumn; but this lake only exists in the spring, when melting snow floods a meadow along Obsidian Creek. Resident beavers apparently maintained this lake year-round in the 19th century, when explorers first discovered and named it.
