Star of India (2007)

The Star of India is the world’s oldest operating ship. Originally built in 1863, it had a long and colorful history before the Maritime Museum of San Diego restored it as part of its fleet of seven historic ships moored along the San Diego waterfront.

To the left of the Star of India is B-39, a Soviet diesel submarine from the 1970s. In front of the ship is one of a set of sculptures along the waterfront, part of a continuing public art project.
